Emotional Baggage in the Advisory Relationship
-
Overview
Often times, advisors find themselves wondering “Am I a Planner or a Therapist?” in meetings with clients. Due to the inherently emotional nature of financial conversations, it can be challenging for advisors to navigate the overwhelming and often strong emotions that show up!
In this workshop, Dr Shay will facilitate a discussion around common challenges financial planners face with clients failing to adhere to financial plans. She will then provide common behavioral, emotional, and relational reasons clients fail to adhere to financial plans as context for these challenges. Finally, Dr Shay will share tips for planners to address these common challenges in their relationships with their clients.
